hi!

This is me playing frisbee golf in Queenstown on the eve of my wedding day in 2017. I’m an English born Australian bred Chilean Vietnamese guy who apparently sounds like a Kiwi (My wife is a Kiwi, we’ve been together for 12 years- it must of rubbed off somehow).

I’ve been shooting all sorts of things for the past 9 years: portraits of athletes, a slice of fashion editorial, New Zealand landscapes, pop musicians and architecture in Hong Kong to name a few but being a wedding photographer wasn’t the original aim. I’d always heard that you could make a living from it but in essence, was just a really long tiring day.

It wasn’t until I married my wife in 2017 that I just saw how great weddings actually are! All your favourite people in one room celebrating (all looking really good) the love of you and your chosen one pledging their love to each other for eternity.

Tears are shed, truths are told, and moments become memories.

And what a privilege this is! People I’ve never met invite me so intimately into their lives to witness & capture what many may regard as one of their greatest days ever!

It really is a wonderful experience. I’ve always been inspired by documentary photographers such as the legendary Henri Cartier Bresson - the decisive moment- or Helmut Newton, -the famous Australian fashion photographer, who just made every scene so approachable like you’ve seen that moment in time before- I like to channel these styles as the day unfold’s.

I love finding beautiful light and using it to capture the fleeting moments but also the important ones too. Candid is the buzz word, so if that’s what you’re after…lucky! Because I love it too!
